Positive flow from IBC

A bit of time has passed, but as many us working in this industry IBC2011 blocked my calendar for a month or so.

Top 3 feedback we got in IBC

  1. OTT is here, pretty much everyone I met mentioned it atleast once. Fortunately we are in the business with our iTV Suite Manager OTT platform. More information to follow...
  2. Connected TVs are here to stay (digg this).
  3. Operators are craving applications to compete with Connected TV, and to be inside them.

It is really interesting to see how the broadcast environment is moving towards an hybrid environment and how the investments we have done for EPG and carousel technology (HbbTV, MHP and so on) is starting to pay-off. These technologies will cruzial when OTT pay-tv operators and broadcasters want to stay in control of their user experience and value added services. They won't be willing to be controlled by the CE manufacturer and to share the revenues with them, but will need to be able to distribute their apps on their own terms over broadcast and broadband.

The wagon for better user experience is on the move and I don't think it can be stopped any longer!
