Icareus Screen Subtitling is a software tool especially designed for creating subtitles and captions, and for the timing of subtitles with time codes. It provides tools for subtitle creating, editing, time coding and playing videos in an own video player screen.
Icareus Screen Subtitling can be used for making subtitles e.g. to TV programs, DVDs and films.
Supported Video
Icareus Screen Subtitling uses the video codecs of the PC’s Windows operating system. So every video that can be played normally with your MS media players can be played in Icareus Screen.
Supported Formats
Icareus Screen Subtitling is completely compatible with several open and proprietary subtitle save file formats, so you can use subtitles that have already been cued for e.g. film or DVD distribution. In addition Icareus constantly adds new supported subtitling formats to Icareus Screen product family. Currently it supports e.g. Cavena (.890), DVD (.sub), Screen (.pkl), text editor (.txt, .rtf), CTM Laser etching (.r01) subtitling formats.
Importing Text
Subtitles can be prepared with any type of word processors, enabling you to continue to use the services of your subcontractor subtitlers.
Timecodes and Frame Rates
Icareus Screen Subtitle support PAL, NTSC, Film, Foot Measure and even custom frame rates. On video side naturally PAL, NTSC and custom video sizes are supported, but also Digital Cinema videos. Timecodes from subtitles can be cued on one frame accuracy.
Software Personalization
The normal Windows keyboard short cuts are in use, but in addition, Icareus Screen Subtitling allows user to change and create own short cuts, so that the usability of the software is the best possible for each user.
System Requirements
Icareus Screen Subtitling is installed onto a standard PC computer. The requirements are Windows 2000, XP or Vista operating system.
Delivery
The software product package contains the Icareus Screen Subtitling installation CD-ROM, a single software license and a User’s Manual. With the User License comes one software protection device ('dongle') to be installed into the PC's USB port.
Support Services
In addition, user support packages can be purchased, i.e. Icareus Ltd. will give advice via e-mail or telephone. This is intended to help you to learn how the software works and familiarize yourself with the system.
